Two years after moving to Missouri, Ben has finely flown the B2 Stealth Bomber, and I can't describe the joy in his eyes when he got off that plane! It made me want to cry.
When we were in pilot training at Sheppard AFB, the B2 was the first aircraft that he had put on his wishlist. Of course, you all know we ended up with the B52. Which was some of our best times in the Air Force, but that was really not part of Ben's plan. He was determined to try and complete is goal/dream of flying the Stealth, and here we are! It's like watching a movie of someone else's life! He is such a goal oriented person and I am so proud to have him as my husband and inspirational father to our child!
Ok, enough of that! I did get to go up in the tower to get to watch him do a Touch and Go(this is when the practices making landings and then take off with out making a complete stop). Once I got up there I realized how small the tower was, how high it was, and that I was completely surrounded by windows! So after watching him complete one T and G, I had to get out of there! I felt hot, faint, and dizzy! Another appreciation for the people in the control towers! To top it off, Ben got the fly his first time in the Spirit of Florida! How cool is that! You can't just pick a bomber you want to fly, they give them out and tell you what jet you are flying, so when he found out he was flying the Spirit of Florida it was just icing on the cake!
